Places to V.shop: Xmas Fair at Alexandra Palace
Vintage shopping experience at Alexandra Palace vintage & antique fair.
Amazing venue such as Alexandra Palace turning for a day into a antique market place - that's a sight worth seeing! It maybe a bit out of the way and you have to pay for the entry but the queue outside the door gives the hint the Ally Pally fair is worth it. It is definitely a great place if you don't mind spending a bit of money but you are looking for genuine antique furniture. We saw some amazing cupboards and tables which were in great condition.
It's a great place to browse and find little treasures. If you looking for quirky props for a film set or performance for example you will find a great selection of white weapons and walking sticks.
You can also find some real catches if you are into vintage clothing - look at this gorgeous gold jacket with it's cutest pistol zips!
Talking about beautiful clothes...
Stalls that made an 'impression' and will last in my memory are those with weird, beautiful but sometimes grotesque items. Look here:

While the butterflies were quite beautiful, the staffed dog was just sturtling.
There were also plenty of choice if you are looking for old good crockery. Or nice shiny objects:
You could also find some art items. Like those painting:
Or something quite more contemporary, but vintage in style - fabulous christmas cards, oyster card holders, cotto bags and hand mirrows - all from a beautiful artist, creator of Transport Doodles, Soleil. (www.transportdoodles.com)

OPENING HOURS: 9.30am - 4.30pm
SIZE: approximately 400 stalls
PRICE RANGE: various from £8-10 for costume jewellery up to £600-800 for fine jewellery pieces and antique furniture
STOCK: ladies & menswear, jewellery & accessories, homeware, posters, collectables & curiosities, lots antique furniture, old crockery.
FACILITIES: you'll find there big and clean toilets, couple of cafes and a pub. If you fancy fresh market food you may be disappointed - there is mainly standard ready made food like sandwiches available. However we were pleasantly suppressed by finding a fresh vegetable soup served at one of the cafes which was a blessing if you eat gluten free or are a vegetarian.
