'The original plan was for me to propose to claire on her birthday in New Orleans in June. I'd been looking at rings for a while but in February when I found the one you had listed I burst into tears - I knew it was perfect. It was simple but unique. I asked about lay bys but before you'd had a chance to answer I became nervous that someone else would buy it so I bought it outright!
Fast forward a couple of months and Claire and I are in the kitchen. She was measuring her finger with a ring sizer she'd bought online and turned to me and said "let's measure yours!"
She went STRAIGHT for my ring finger and I laughed and told her to be less obvious next timeđ I went upstairs to get my phone charger, came back down and she was on one knee in the kitchen. I laughed thinking she was joking but then she produced a ring! I ran away!đ
Once she'd caught me, I squealed and ran back upstairs to where her ring had been hidden and presented it to her. Once we both realised we weren't joking, we of course said yes and there were a lot of tears and laughter. It was absolutely perfectđ
She adored the ring and we've had it resized so it's perfect. We're planning on having our wedding at an old manor house in the New Forest with a vintage afternoon tea instead of the usual sit down meal.
I genuinely can't thank you enough for your help and excitement throughout the whole buying experience - from speedy responses to scheduling stealthy delivery for when my partner was out!
